Summer ends with fireworks and violet skies and you and me in the grass. Summer ends with you in repose, content to have rested against the earth and felt its many orbits back to spring. It ends, not even because it wants to, but because there must be room for autumn and winter if the darling buds are to feather and bloom again. I remember you in repose.
