I was the first wife of the powerful Sango. I am beautiful, strong and elegant. I felt his love for me was fading away and so I seek advice from the enemy who disguise as a friend. Sacrificing my left ear is nothing compared to my love for him. Little did I know this would doom me and I will lose my love forever. I lost my place but it made me into a powerful goddess I am today. Now I flow like a river with an anger in me never to cross path with the betrayer.
I am Obà, The goddess of rivers and flowing waters, The daughter of Yemoja.
Over the years I see my culture going down the drain and even some of our legends and myths are becoming widely forgotten. It's amazing how people get familiar with foreign deities and know their stories but cannot even talk about one correctly from the Yoruba origin. This collection is made to give us the stories of powerful Yoruba goddess. What they went through in their mortal forms before becoming a goddess and even after becoming a goddess. Each piece is specially created to carry on these legends for years to come.
