OCHIMUSHA is a warrior who survives and escapes as a loser in a war.

Why such a unique hairstyle? The reason lies in the hairstyle of Japanese samurai during the Warring States period. In those days, most samurai wore their hair in a chonmage style.

However, when wearing a helmet, the chonmage would get in the way, so the samurai would untie their hair and tie it behind their back before going into battle.

And when he lost the battle, he threw away the heavy helmet that showed his true identity and ran away. At that time, the hair he had tied up came undone, giving him a unique hairstyle.

The reason why they had to flee without their identities being discovered was because there was a possibility of being attacked by peasants in addition to the possibility of being discovered by enemy soldiers.
