A 3001 vintage red wine made from 100% Listán Negro grapes from the Northeast Syrtis region of Mars. This grape was transported from the Canary Islands due to it's similar environment to this region on Mars. Originally grown in a "moon like crater" on volcanic soils this grape varietal was well suited for life on Mars. Trained into a low basket shape to protect the vines from the high winds and help grapes mature to full ripeness these grapes take longer to grow than those on Earth and ages slower in barrel causing many producers to hold onto vintages longer prior to release to allow the wines to fully develop in bottle. This wine has flavours of tart cherry, banana, black pepper and smoke with a hint of tar from the volcanic soils.
