The world is a very noisy place. So many connections, so many demands, we also move so fast. In this continuous race after a (sometimes) mythical idea of a better life, people tend to forget themselves. They tend to detach from their gut feelings and follow a well-known way they see around.

I was a part of this race. And I was ok about this until I found myself having suicidal thoughts because of the burnout, and because I wasn't living my life in the first place. This is when I was at the edge. Collapsing. And I learned this the hard way: you have only one life, you can't run after the ghosts and ideals, you have to chase your (best) self.

This photo was captured by luck: bc I had to throw this lighter with the fire going hundreds of times. But when I saw this one, I understood that I wanted it to be a reminder – for myself first of all – to never forget myself, my vision, and what I am. Connect with yourself, reach for your best self. And let it guide you when it's darkest.
