This is a Polaroid taken in the set of my short film "Terra Incognita" (2015).
It is my third short, an atmospheric thriller featuring an agoraphobiac girl named Laila (Giselle Batista). Water brings an element of calmness to Laila, and the swimming pool acts a sanctuary to her. Filming those underwater scenes was very challenging, but also very important to the mood I tried to convey.
"Terra Incognita" was screened at various film festivals, including the Marfa Film Festival (Marfa, Texas).
The title "Song to the Siren" is a reference to the song by Tim Buckley, made famous with the version by This Mortal Coil.
