In a twist on the Oscar Wilde quote, "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars," I captured this photo while lying on the stars themselves - the ones on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - gazing up at where so many real life stars made music history: the Capitol Records Building.
Just hours earlier I'd been across the street on the rooftop of the Aster Hotel for a private Duran Duran concert during which they illuminated this tower in the colors of the Ukrainian flag while playing "Ordinary World" in tribute.
However you look at it, this tower is legendary. Hopefully this angle captures some of its timeless wonder in a special way.
I work within the constraints of relatively amateur toolsets. My camera is an iPhone 12 Pro Max using Night mode, which produces surprisingly clear results in the middle of the night. The photo is unedited from the original capture, aside from a slight rotation for vertical alignment.

The "Towers" photographs were taken on long, late night walks near the highest point in the Seattle area during the COVID-19 pandemic while I was on the Clubhouse app with a new breed of innovative creators sharing inspiring discoveries about the burgeoning NFT space.
I’m fascinated by the juxtaposition and implications of high technology amidst nature, so these towers surrounded by trees in a local neighborhood park, in full moonglow, lured me in.
I've also added other photos that suit this general aesthetic of functional yet imposing manmade structures.
