URBAN SOULS by Gabriele Croppi

URBAN SOULS by Gabriele Croppi The series “Metaphysics of the Urban Landscape” has consecrated Gabriele Croppi among the most interesting artists of the international photographic scene. With a “new and exciting style, he was able to renew the image of New York, one of the most photographed cities in the world, winning a challenge that seemed impossible” (Marla Hamburg Kennedy). His work quickly gained critical attention with rave reviews (BW American Magazine, Forbes, The Guardian) and global accolades. More than a decade later, Gabriele Croppi is preparing to launch a new collection, “Urban Souls”, in which the characters of his best-known images regain a new life. It is an operation of re-semantization, no longer linked to the photographic tradition of the Urban Landscape, but which is part of the photographic tradition of "social and human cataloging" inaugurated by August Sander in the early decades of the twentieth century.
