The Demolition of Aylesworth Hall

A collection of field recordings gathered during the demolition of Aylesworth Hall, a former dormitory at Colorado State University. Opened in 1957, the Mid Century dormitory served many different purposes for the university, housing several departments and classes in addition to housing students. Major renovations and upkeep were stopped in the late 90s, causing the building to fall into disrepair before it was eventually torn down in the summer of 2019, making way for a new academic village. These sonic remnants are presented here with images from the demolition of one of the dormitory's wings.
