Series 2 - Abstract Irish Sunrises

Series 2 of my Abstract Irish Sunrises collection captures the wonder of Ireland's morning skies, using post-processing to create an ethereal and tranquil mood I call "simulated ICM."

Many of these images were captured from the same viewpoint on different days with the morning light reflecting in the waters of the historic Shannon, Ireland's longest river.

The Estuary connects to the Atlantic Ocean and has served as a gateway to Interior Ireland for hundreds of years. In previous centuries, this part of the estuary would have been travelled by Vikings, Missionaries and Marauders.

In the 1930s and 1940s, it also served as the first truly International Landing Zone for flying boats carrying wealthy passengers across the Atlantic to and from the U.S. and Europe.
