Runi Launch

Splinterlands is an online collectible card game that lets you earn while you play using the power of blockchain technology. Traditional turn-based TCGs like Magic: The Gathering and Pokemon can last 30 minutes or more. Splinterlands, on the other hand, uses a draft-style approach, and each battle only takes 2 or 3 minutes to play. Once you’re matched against an opponent, you'll build your team using the cards in your collection. The battle then plays out automatically in a quick, action-packed format.

In Splinterlands, players truly own their cards. They can be collected, used to battle for rewards, rented to other players, or bought and sold on the peer-to-peer market. Runi Reconstruction will allow Runi owners to "reconstruct" one of their Runi with one or more parts from another Runi that they also own. This will allow holders to construct their perfect  Runi to use on the battlefield and as their avatars, and overall uniqueness will still be enforced. The second Runi will be burned, along with any unused or replaced parts, which will reduce the overall supply of Runi over time!

Before the end of the year we expect that Runi holders will be able to stake their Runi within their Ethereum wallet which will allow the Runi to be used as a max level, Legendary, Neutral card within the Splinterlands game. This is the first time ever that players can own and use a completely unique card within a trading card game, and it will allow players to show off their unique Runi on the battlefield in ranked play, tournaments, guild brawls, and more!
