The pixel is the indivisible elementary building block of all digital images, photography, art, video and text. As an experiment in minimalistic art, I started with uniquely capturing pixels one by one in their true, naked and canonical form, uncompromised by any stylization or design. Although there can be endless variations of art made of multiple pixels, there is only one way single pixel art can be made. I therefore decided that it had to be done. The next logical step was to explore the possibilities of multiple pixels from the ground up. Through algorithmic generation, I let the pixels speak for themselves and spontaneously form patterns.
