Behind computer screens, canvas, and keyboards, all eight Korean artists at the center of OrangeHare’s second NFT collection are shaping their own identities within a borderless universe, a place where movies, cartoons, and pop-culture are claimed not by countries, but by those who have experienced them and connect with their stories.
And in the process, all 8 artists have succeeded in forging personal mythologies that extend well beyond national, and maybe even personal, identity. This is the KOREAN POP-REVOLUTION, a collection that celebrates a new generation of Korean creators eager to explore their own artistic identity in a rapidly changing world.

DONGZADONGHWI is an artist who works with paintings, videos, and objects. As a video artist since 2015, DONGZADONGHWI enjoys collaborating with musicians and his progression to the realm of web3 was a natural one- his thirst for color only rivaled by his search for life’s meaning beyond mediums, from painting to sculpture and now NFTs.
동자동휘는 회화, 영상, 오브제 작업을 하는 작가입니다. 2015년부터 비디오 아티스트로서 음악가들과의 협업을 즐기는 동자동휘는 web3의 영역으로의 진출은 자연스러운 것이었습니다. 그림에서 조각, 그리고 이제는 NFT에 이르기까지 매체를 넘어선 삶의 의미를 찾는 그의 색체와 형태에 대한 갈증은 작품으로 계속 이어지고 있습니다.
“There were no birds in the sky. Birds are busy finding their own way in a world where they cannot fly."
Through the story of birds, which are capable of flying freely in the sky yet are often confused as to where to go, we have made it possible for us to sympathize with the confusing emotions we may experience in life. But this work also conveys hope. Even if a person has lost their way, I tried to show them the courage to stand up again and find a new path through the images of birds that do not want to lose their color.

이 작품은 어려운 시기에 길을 잃고 혼란스러움을 겪는 인물의 마음을 그려내고자 하였습니다. 하늘에서 자유롭게 날아다녀야 할 새들이 길을 찾지 못하고 혼란에 빠져있다는 이 야기를 통해, 우리가 겪을 수 있는 혼란스러운 감정을 공감할 수 있도록 하였습니다. 하지만 이 작품은 또한 희망을 전합니다. 길을 잃었더라도 용기를 내어 다시 일어서서 자신만의 길을 찾아나가려는 마음을, 자신의 색을 잃지 않으려는 마음을 새들의 모습을 통해 보여주려 하였습니다.
Miné.K is an artist who creates a yellow teddy bear character called NOBODY. NOBODY is a series of works that express aspects of our daily lives, tastes, and occupations. NOBODY's various appearances are portraits of modern people who pursue something special, but eventually face the most ordinary me and others, one of many.
아티스트 김미네는 NOBODY라는 노란색 테디베어 캐릭터를 만드는 아티스트입니다. NOBODY는 우리의 일상과 취향, 여러 직업군의 단면을 표현한 작품 시리즈입니다. NOBODY의 다양한 모습은 특별함을 추구하지만 결국 가장 평범한 나와 타인, 그 중 하나와 마주하는 현대인들의 초상입니다.
I am interested in contradictions, dualities, ambiguities, and the free will of human beings. A fun yet empty party. A gift that is nice to receive, yet burdensome to hold. And even though it's everyone's story- my own is a mess of contradictions.
So I am drawing the most ordinary child of all, NOBODY. Who is Nobody? Nobody is a teddy bear that just wants to be happy.
인간이 가지고있는 모순과 이중성, 모호함, 자유의지 등에 관심이 많습니다. 즐거우면서도 공허한 파티, 받을땐 좋으면서도 부담스러운 선물, 그리고 모두의 이야기면서도 아무런 존재도 아니라는 의미의 주인공 노바디까지 나의 이야기는 모순 덩어리입니다.
가장 보통의 아이 NOBODY를 그리고 있습니다. 노바디는 누구일까요. 노바디는 그저 행복하고 싶은 곰인형 입니다.
Lee Hyo-sun, blue is the shadow that lines her soul, and by making eye contact with her blue hazy-eyed figures, we too can step inside her universe and bathe in its serene afterglow. Indeed, for the characters in Lee Hyo-sun’s work, eye contact and body language seem to be the only way to communicate- for they don’t have mouths. In viewing her work, Lee Hyo-sun urges us to remember that we cry for two reasons: When we are happy, and when we are sad, and at the same time we use the same color.
이효선 작가에게 파란색은 그녀의 영혼을 가두는 그림자이며, 작품 속 푸른 눈동자와 눈을 마주치면 우리도 그의 우주 속으로 들어가 그 잔잔한 여운에 젖게 됩니다. 실제로 이효선의 작품 속 인물들은 입이 없기 때문에 눈맞춤과 몸짓만이 의사소통의 수단이 됩니다. 이효선 작가는 우리가 우는 이유는 기쁠 때와 슬플 때 두 가지인데, 눈물을 상징하는 파란색은 두 가지 감정을 다 담을 수 있다는 점을 그녀의 작품을 통해 전달합니다.

Rowa is illustrator, digital artist, and fashion designer. There is just something so alluring about the worlds she creates, and the conflicting elements she brings to the table are often as delicious as they are grotesque. A little bit of sweet, a little bit of salty. “While majoring in fashion, I especially liked Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood, and the mix and match of feminine lace materials and mannish and strong leather materials, and the heterogeneous combination of traditional British clothing, punk, and deconstructionist details. The inspiration I received from this has continued into my current work.”
로와(Rowa)는 서울에서 디지털 아티스트이자 일러스트레이터로 활발히 활동하고 있습니다. 패션디자인을 전공하였으며 인물 묘사와 다양한 컬러, 스토리텔링을 다루는 커리큘럼을 통해 패션과 아트라는 비슷하면서도 다른 두 영역을 오가며 크리에이터로 성장하였습니다. 로와는 섬세하고 고전적인 스타일의 스케치와 선명하고 현대적인 컬러의 조합으로 몽환적인 분위기를 작품에 표현하고 있으며 각각의 세계에서 온 듯한 상반된 분위기의 요소를 한 이미지에 담아 낯선 아름다움을 타나냅니다. 로맨틱적인 요소와 그로테스크한 요소를 상충시키는 등 이질적인 분위기를 만들어 감상자로 하여금 궁금증을 자아내며, 상상력을 자극하는 미스터리한 스토리텔링의 다채로운 세계를 작품에 담아내고 있습니다.

As a graphic designer and an illustrator, the work of Mothfly is instilled with an undercurrent of chaotic potential “made chill.” By fusing his love for the humor of American cartoons with contemporary Korean culture, Mothfly lets his mind roam when he creates, and often covers some pretty bizarre expanses in the process. Through each disparate character or situation he creates, no matter how outlandish, a portrait of the artist be revealed through his characters, the environment where the artist grew up and his tastes and doing graffiti.

Garibong City is in peril once again but this time hope has emerged in the form of a familiar face. Madoobuck, who was thought to have been lost forever in a massive explosion during a moment of absolute crisis, has miraculously returned to the city. Riding on a rugged yet formidable robot crafted from scrap metal by the skilled veterans of Mullae(an area in Seoul) Steelworks, Madoobuck has emerged as a beacon of hope in the darkness that has descended upon the city.

Multicultural and multinational is the name of the game, and stepping into his comic book Universe is like dunking your head in a retro pinball machine, in a good way! Ricocheting between the subcultures of hip hop, cyberpunk, and skateboarding, his artwork mirror unique qualities in humorous situations, and present captivating stories that challenge prejudice in the age of the internet.

Love is sometimes a concept that has been packaged and sold to us by all manner of advertisers and dreamers. But for Korean artist Johnny Boy, he wants to present it as it truly is, unwrapped and free of all the boxes that contain it. As a student of automobile design, illustration, and fine arts in the U.S., his work adores texture and delights in its use, whether his characters are squished, solid, or runny. As an artist Johnny Boy’s central theme is always to always to “love and be loved,” which is a lofty aspiration to both live by and pursue creatively.

Steel Heart is one of Johnny Boy's NFT element series. Iron is a shiny material that can get cold or hot depending on the environment, and although hard, it is also flexible. Through the characteristics assigned to the character, it brings out memories and emotions of the viewers ' personal love.

Now imagine a world fully healed by the hand of the divine, a planet whose fantastical flora and fauna positively blossom within a strange and ever evolving garden of Eden. Welcome to the fever dream of Korean artist Kim Jiwon, aka Will’s Planet, a place where the food chain has been turned upside down and humans now inhabit the lowest rungs on the ladder both intellectually and physically.

"The seed that has been wandering the skies has finally found its right place."
In this work, nothing is what it seems. Gathering energy and protection from “Gaia,” one of Will’s Planet’s three guardians, what looks like a balloon is actually an apple, and the tail in the clouds is an electric eel!
However, the heart-shaped seeds at the center of this story are the seeds of ‘The Eminently Lovely Flower’, which are often found flying in the sky in many other works. Ironically, the seeds of this beautiful flower are sown by a comic-looking creature inspired by the face of a blobfish, which is said to be the world’s ugliest animal. But in this case, they appear to be companions.

다른 여러 작품들에서도 하늘을 날아다니고 있는 이 하트 모양의 씨앗은 '엄청나게 사랑스러운 꽃'의 씨앗입니다. 자연의 신 가이아는 자리를 잡은 씨앗에게 특별한 힘을 사용하여 꽃이 빠르게 자라도록 도와주고있습니다. 엄청나게 사랑스러운 꽃이 활짝피면 아이러니하게도 우스꽝스럽게 생긴 얼굴이 활짝 피는데 이는 가장 못생긴 동물로 유명한 ‘블롭피쉬’에서 모티브를 얻었습니다. 가장 못생겼다고 칭해지는 동물이지만 윌스 플래닛의 세계관에서는 이 친구를 아름다운 꽃으로 만들어주고 싶었습니다.
