NYC Snow by John Huet

New York City and snow are contradictions. One is known for its fast pace, constant noise, and blurred motions, the other for its slow, silent flakes. When it snows in New York, the city becomes a checkered patchwork of these two different moods. The storm calms the city, people stay off the street if they can, drive more cautiously, and a kind of quiet permeates the cold air. And yet, some of the busy electricity of New York remains, the lights are still bright and illuminate the flakes as they turn in the air, people still crowd into the subway, and business as usual continues under the fresh veil of snow. Featured in this collection of John Huet is 20 one of one’s, each a unique photo taken of New York in this spectacular, ephemeral state.
