Laura lost her sight in 2007 but she has never lost her vision.

This Amsterdam-based artist has been building her collection of acrylic- on-canvas Contemporary Abstract paintings since 2015. From her very first work "TANGO", observers with cynical presumptions of what a blind painter could achieve have been awestruck by Laura's intuitive sense of composition, color palettes and three dimensional textures.

Dutch journalist Frans van der Beek summed it up this way in a magazine profile of Laura, "The artworks of Laura Meddens are a feast for the eyes. Sparkling colors, surprising compositions and an invitation to let your own imagination run wild. Her canvases have a magical effect on the viewer."
