Located 384,400km away is our closest cosmic neighbour, our very own moon. Humans have been depicting and studying this 4.53 billion year old rock for over 4000 years now. This collection is a small slice of this history and shows my own perceptions and lunar photography of this wonder in the sky.
1/1 Photographs
All photographs are taken from my own back garden using a Nikon FX dlsr camera paired with a celestron 114eq telescope. 10,000 of pictures are taken and then stacked together to bring out the details whilst reducing the photo noise.
“The moon is a loyal companion. It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.” ― Tahereh Mafi, Shatter Me
