This portfolio by Dave Bazzel entitled "Black & White Retrospectives" concentrates on old historic buildings in North America reminiscing and appreciating times past. They are all taken with medium format Infrared film (yes, film) and carefully composed from atop a tripod.

Infrared film based photography is both beautiful but also quite challenging. Challenging, in that infrared light can not be seen by the eye so a bit of "vision" is helpful. The beautiful aspect is that the chlorophyll in plants, and especially leaves, reflect more infrared light than visible thus they appear luminescent.
