The story of Yuliia "Taira" Paievska's participation in the defense of Ukraine begins in 2013–2014, when she served as a volunteer street medic at the Revolution of Dignity. At the outset of Russian aggression in the east of Ukraine in 2014, she founded the "Taira's Angels" unit, which saved thousands of lives and operates till now. In March 2022, Taira was captivated by the Russians. After three months, she was released and returned home.
Taira became one of the most powerful symbols of the indomitability of the Ukrainian people when, after the captivity, she continued to actively help the army and the country without losing her optimism, willpower, and confidence in the future. "Ukraine will be saved by a miracle, and this miracle is the Ukrainian people," Paievska says.
This publication was created to support the project "From the Flames We Were Born." It aims to show the face of the Ukrainian national struggle and help raise funds to purchase essential equipment for the Main Military Clinical Hospital.
