Moses parting the sea
the crossing of the sea was one of the key events of the Israelite exit from Egypt. After the Israelites were led out of their former headquarters in Lower Egypt, Moses led them east to the Promised Land, or Canaan. The shortest route was to the northeast, along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, which, however, was under Egyptian control at the time. Moses chose a way around. In the vicinity of a place described in the Bible as Baal-Zephon, it turned out that Pharaoh withdrew from consenting the Israelites to leave Egypt and sent his army in pursuit. The Israelites turned against Moses, accusing him of causing his destruction, but he miraculously led them across the sea, whose waters were parted during the night by a strong wind. The Egyptians followed, but their chariots got stuck, and in the morning the waters returned to their place, sinking the Egyptian army. A set of basic moral precepts obligatory originally by believers and adopted by Christians.
The Catholic Church expressed the view that the complement to the Decalogue was the paschal mystery of Jesus Christ (cf. Mt 5: 17-19), and the realization of its content was caused by faith in the resurrection of Christ.
The Catholic Church also believes that people who experience the Son of God through the Holy Spirit receive the distinction “to become God's children.
