In the painting, she is located to the left of the Infanta and she is offering some fresh water from a small ceramic jug. She is very attentive and helpful, focused to fulfill her task properly. Despite this, I also imagine her being playful I can visualize her singing and running up and down all day while fulfilling her obligations. She doesn’t stop being just a girl. In my representation, the jar is mobile so the water can be served to the Infant, as in the canvas.
