ALMA_l_c collection image

Art work of Shih Wei Chieh. This is a small collection of the early data visualization prototypes for the collaboration with l_c Project, host by artist Maria Jose River, to visualize modern astronomy datas in format of textile art, in order to mimic the Andeans aboriginals how they document astronomy informations in textiles.

These graphics were generated in max/msp, however it is not base on the real data yet, it only base on my own interpretation of interferometry, the very principle of how the radio telescope work. This max patch i created will be used to generate pattern base on FITS files from ALMA science archive.

The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), the largest astronomical project in existence, composed of 66 antennas located on the Chajnantor Plateau, 5000 meters altitude in northern Chile, which is the major telescope in (EHT) project which is known for capturing the first image of a black hole in the galaxy Messier 87.
