This is a photograph taken of an abandoned farmhouse. It is located in the Scottish Highlands. This place has been abandoned for many decades from looking at the state of the rooms and building itself.

Old wooden furniture. Objects left behind. The paint has chipped from the walls and windowsills. The leaves and other items from the surrounding countryside have come into the room. The windows have all been smashed away. The room has no protection. This room has a feeling of loneliness and the sadness of what may have happened to the people who once lived here. I always have the utmost respect when I visit these desolate places. I do not touch or move or take anything from them. I go in and take the photos and try to capture the feelings behind them.

This room seems so lonely. Some of these abandoned places are very unstable and there is a risk when entering.
