Memories Lost and Found is my third feature film. As a child, I lived in Lesotho during the last years of Apartheid when my father worked for the United Nations. As an adult, I lived through the last years of the Colombian post-conflict, which catapulted back to my childhood memories.

Memories will be a 90-minute documentary feature film that uses full HD video, archive photographs and hand drawn animation. In this piece and other pieces of the Memories Lost & Found collection I work together with the Colombian animator Carla Melo to explore in first person how we remember, save and reconstruct our past. The animation drawn on the archive photographs is the expression of children's memory and at the same time a symbol of a knitting thread. The film itself becomes a tapestry of collective memory.
