She'd mostly played classical violin, turning to popular music for a few months before the pandemic. I watched her play Hotline Bling one evening just weeks before she was robbed of her equipment and violin.
I always hope she's healthy, safe, and happy, playing music somewhere when I look at this image.

With a sickness I capture moments around me, obsessed by the knowledge that everything's lost.
I believe capturing truth requires the absence of me. My work is a reflection.
