Mojave Jones by Tennessee Loveless

Years ago I had moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to open up my first pop up shop in a metal shipping container park. While I was sorting this new start, I stayed at the El Cortez Hotel for a while since it was across the street from my shop, and I still hadn’t figured out my apartment situation yet at that time. After work I would just come back to the hotel because well… .. I didn’t really know anyone JUST yet.. so often I’d play the news and just draw alone in my room. I had a bent gesso board and a few markers to work with at the time… and that was enough for me to zone out and work around whatever was in my environment then.

When I had first started working in digital MANY MANY years later, the one thing I wanted to do was to redraw my archived pieces again… ESPECIALLY the ones from Las Vegas. This piece, which was originally called “ Reflector Spectre” was reimagined, modified, and redrawn as it’s current title: “Mojave Jones”
