My MISERERE is not an homage to Rouault’s collection, it is a dialogical bridge between suffering then and suffering now. Now and then artistic visions integrate across time and space — that has happened. I intend for my MISERERE and Rouault’s Miserere to foment and ultimately form a binary relationship in service to suffering and so to mental health awareness in the 21st century and finally, ideas about how humanity’s existential crises has not devolved across generations but worsened without differentiation.
