Because of the nature of distinguishing the good from the bad, Haitai was associated with the trial, and later Hatchi was painted on the judge's clothes.

In Korea, the Joseon Dynasty carved a hatch on the chest of the official robe worn by Dae Dae-heon, the head of the ministry, as a symbol of protecting the ministry that inspects officials and enforces the law. Also, today, a statue of the hatch is erected in front of the National Assembly of South Korea and the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. It means to keep your mind together, always be vigilant, and stand on the side of justice and deal fairly with the law.

Haechi was selected by the Seoul Metropolitan Government as a symbol representing Seoul on May 13, 2008.
