Being born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, I have always loved car culture and the influences from California in particular Ed "Big Daddy" Roth. And, I was fortunate to have viewed Star Wars the week it came out in 1977 and it changed the trajectory of my life. I decided to do a mashup of these two worlds and utilize a new skill I had recently developed - nickle plating. I made this piece from handcrafted parts, kit-bashed model pieces, sculpting, nickle plate and paint. Photograph by me.
