INFINITE PRESSURE is a series of mixed media works that begin with a photo or found graphic which gets broken down, converted into vectors, then recomposed, shape-by-shape. A digital collage of vectors that, while arranged by hand, leaves much to the whims of the software. The work relies heavily on the random output and techniques Chuck has devised in Illustrator to assist in laying the groundwork for each work before going deeper and making human decisions about color, composition, space, and emotion. ‘INFINITE PRESSURE / Proof of Concept AP 1/1’ is the first exploration into layering photography into these works after the initial process, bringing them full circle to where the work began.
