Artist Pavel Zeldovich, Bullying, edition 1 of 1. For me bullying is an excellent example of the fundamental flaws of humanity. That dark side existed in people since the dawn of times. Before asking ourselves how human beings are capable of waging wars and genocides, I suggest that we should take a look at the nearest schoolyard. I bet that we will see the same picture in any part of the world. Having frequently experienced bullying myself as a kid, I consider it a manifestation of pure evil. Essentially it is a slow murder, a cold hearted, deliberate hostility. It causes mental wounds that may never heal. Nevertheless, bullying among children is often considered normal and somehow socially acceptable. In this work I intentionally portrayed such a brutal episode in bright playful colors. That’s how bullying is usually perceived by adults and clueless bystanders – «kids are just having fun» as people often say.
