I love the blacks and purples and reds as they contrast against the yellows and the smattering of green. The deer seems like the subject, but it's not. It's the guest, the traveler, the passerby who chooses to be there in that moment and then is gone. It's about the seeming permanency of setting contrasted with agency of the individual and how although everything changes, some things change more than others. And that's OK.
