Louis Vuitton founded his company in 1854 and opened his first store at No. 4 rue Neuve-des-Capucines in Paris. That same year, he married Clémence-Émilie Parriaux. Marking the 100th anniversary of its founding, the House moved its store from the Champs-Élysées to No. 78 bis avenue Marceau, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. The grand opening date corresponded to the anniversary date of Louis’s marriage to Clémence-Émilie, April 22.
