As the water falls endlessly over Stirling Falls in Milford Sound New Zealand, one cant help but watch in awe as mother nature repaints this scene over and over as one of her pure masterpieces.

Accessible only by boat, and dropping an incredible 151 metres into the fiord below, this famous landmark has stood the test of time since the ice age.

Named 'Wai Manu' in Maori or 'Cloud on the water', the spray at the bottom of the falls often looks like a cloud in the distance floating on top of the water.

This close up abstract shot taken from a boat in the fiord shows the intricate patterns the falls create when hitting the water, and the cloud that appears as the collision takes place.

It was so worth the soaking, spray in the face, wet camera moment to capture this scene. It is one of my most popular and favourite waterfall images, and I'm so grateful I got to capture this timeless waterfall on my travels.

With a deep connection for nature, my photography journey started almost a decade ago. Since then I've been travelling New Zealand and many other countries with my camera in hand, capturing incredible scenes from the natural world with signature style long exposure imagery and dreamscapes.
