A direct representation of the facade that has covered my face as I bury my real emotions and what I’m actually suffering with. Just as the balloon is bound to float away my facade would only last for a short time before the truth was revealed. Making this piece inspired the series.
A series created based on my experience hiding my mental illness and drug addiction, the balloons represent the facade I carry with me everywhere I go. Making this series has been an awakening for me that being my true self as an artist is the only way to truly be successful in this space, and that the facade will just bring me down. This series inspired me to be me, even if that’s not always a smiley face
