Nov. 1 and 2, 2021, San Andres Mixquic, Mexico: In the small town of Mixquic, MX, thousands of people gather each year on Nov. 1 and 2 to commemorate family members who have passed away and welcome their souls back to earth. It is known as Dia de los Muertos. Families lay out offerings in their ofrendas, which are adorned with pictures of the deceased, bread known as pan de muerto, and other items that their loved ones enjoyed while on earth. Some people dress up in elaborate costumes for the celebration. Graves are decorated with cempasuchil, also known as marigolds. On Nov. 2, thousands of people flock to the cemetary to light candles for their loved ones. The event is not one of sadness, but of happiness and celebration.

Mexico 2021 collection image

This is a collection of images I took in late October, early November of 2021 in Mexico. It included Dia de los Muertos, some architectural work, and some protests we came across. A portion of the profits will go back into buying nfts from emerging artists.
