About the artist:

My name is Olena Hontar. I’m 41 years old. I was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine. I graduated Kharkiv Art Academy, faculty of interior design. She worked as a designer for 3 years. I started painting 8 years ago, with the appearance of my second child. One day I realized that I no longer wanted to sit in the office at a computer, but wanted to do what I liked since my childhood. At first my works were copies of different famous artists. My works were exhibited on social media and they found their buyers. Then I wanted to open up more and trust my inner world, so my new author’s paintings began to be born. From that period my creative journey began. Hobby went into a profession and then into a lifestyle.

My paintings are about what I see, what I feel, what my soul feels, I try to paint my emotions and part of my soul. I study nature and its forms. I set picturesque tasks. I experiment and look for new compositional, colors and figurative solutions. My paintings are filled with light and warmth. I love to use the warm palette for my paintings and I don’t use black color palette. At the moment I create my paintings in the style of impressionism, in pasty painting technique with the use of the palette knife. My favorite genres in which I work are landscapes, architecture, abstraction and flowers. When I do painting, I feel a joy, feeling of flight and inspiration.
