This now-defunct Starbucks at the corner of Fountainview & Westheimer in Houston was the very first Starbucks that I ever saw. It was the night of March 16, 1995, and I as I drove around with a high school friend, looking for a place to set up a game of chess, this cafe's catchy name and logo caught our eye. We popped inside for a couple of joes and a game or two, and I had no idea then that this relatively unknown company would later change the course of my life.
