""Supermoonrise II"" and ""Harthill, 19th May 2020"" are from my called project ""Rage Against The Dying"" Of The Light"" is based around the rural village in Cheshire where I grew up. As a result of the impending restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I returned home. This project documents the familiar at night and finds beauty in objects and landscapes people wouldn't think as beautiful during the day.
Rage's story began when my mental health was at a low point. I had witnessed overnight my friends and my own livelihoods in the live music sector vanish overnight. Rage was my release from the anxiety and depression that was plaguing my mind. It fulfilled my need to escape the same four walls I saw everyday, even of some of the locations were within walking distance of my family home.
Rage Against The Dying Of The Light is inspired by the landscapes of Sir Don McCullin and is named after a line in the Dylan Thomas poem ""Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night""
