A self-portrait on Iceland's infamous volcano, painted from life - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_HnqNRnlEI
The volcano was hot and dangerous. Having almost been gassed and sweating relentlessly, I wrote on the painting, " ÞETTA REDDAST". It is an Icelandic saying translating to, "Everything's going to be alright".
When I one day get to the moon, set up the easel, and start painting; rubbing into the paint the dust from which I'm standing on, having brought it back down the earth... over my dead body will I be making it an NFT.
That being said this is the only and final NFT I make, representing the mission I am undertaking to get to the moon and what I am willing to do to be the first artist on the moon.
This painting is to encourage people not to be shy of dreaming big and shoot for the stars (quite literally)
'Take Me To The Moon'
Max Denison-Pender, 23, was born in Chile to British parents. He grew up in Barcelona and began his formal training under a descendant of Joan Miró. At 16, Max traveled to London to complete his fine arts education.
His first solo exhibition sold out in 2019 and, at 21, Max was appointed artist-in-residence for the UK Olympic Team. With the Games postponed, he turned his attention to charitable work to support front-line pandemic heroes. Today, his portraits of the nurses who helped save British PM Boris Johnson hang outside the PM's office. Since he has attracted patrons worldwide and commissions from such stars as boxer Anthony Joshua who Max captured in his training camp.
Max is considered by the UK press as a future star of British art. Tatler recently included Max as among the high society artists of his generation.
Max is known for his dominance of the fundamentals of classical art combined with an irreverent, innovative approach to subjects and locations.
