During the peak of the pandemic, I was stuck in what's currently classed as 'the most locked-down city in the world', Melbourne. At the time I had no work due to covid and was trying to make it as a photographer. After months and months of being locked up in our apartment, we were finally free! Cases were low and the state had opened up again. The Black Spur (GREENWOOD) was the first place I wanted to visit. So the next day I rented a car and drove straight to the Jurrasic forest. After a surreal day shooting and what felt like we were back to some normality, the cases started to rise again, and before we knew it we were back in lockdown.

I look back at this time as a sign of gratitude. Without photography, I don't know where I'd be. That short period of time shooting what I love, gave me everything I needed to be where I am today.

Upon this piece selling to a collector, I will be using a portion of the profits to plant 100 trees in parts of the world that suffer from deforestation.
