26th April 1986. The fate of thousands of persons would be dictated by choices made at the control panel of Chernobyl´s reactor 4 power station. Although many lives were lost in the aftermath of the accident, its repercussions were also felt at geopolitical levels. It allegedly contributed to the INF treaty of 1987, setting the stage to the reduction of the world’s nuclear weapons arsenal. Who knows how many lives were saved.
