Sedes Sapienti (Seat of Wisdom) was an independent society of individuals who in their seclusion advanced intelligence and technology to godlike heights.

Sedes started out as a collaborative research fellowship and attracted mostly eccentric humans, billionaires and enthusiasts of transhumanism. It ultimately emerged as a closed sect of individuals, living on a private island, away from most of the world.

It was sure they were the first to develop superintelligence both in machines and humans. They kept these gifts to themselves perhaps thinking it too dangerous for we Mostly Original Substrate Humans. They launched several deep space missions and discovered new forms of energy yet a bulk of their operations remained unknown.

There has been much speculation of their activities ever since they left earth in 2063. The empty shell of their island strewn with insinuating ideas and plans to seed much of the universe with consciousness and mind. From unicellular alien life to empty space itself.

Some fear their experiments with the nature of our universe will spell disaster for all currently existing life. Others are more hopeful and look to Sedes as a guiding light for a glorious tomorrow.
