As with other top Pauillac wines, the grand vin is prized for its combination of powerful dark fruits, finesse and elegance, and ability to age for many decades.For Pauillac, the 2019 vintage was generally incredible. The resulting grapes were extremely healthy, and this naturally translated to the wines. In general, the wines were sophisticated and powerful with rich, dark fruit and velvet tannins while still retaining delicate aromatics. The top examples should be able to cellar for many years to come. Overall, the 2019 vintage for Pauillac was a roaring success and largely delivered across the board making it one of the most consistent Bordeaux appellations that year. Although it may be hard to go wrong, careful research will nearly always be rewarded.
