There is a long history behind stereograms going back some two hundred years. Basically, there are images containing the outline of 3D objects seen via two channels, one for each eye. When you stare at these images your brain instinctively tries to make sense of it by merging, as quickly as possible, the two images into one clear view of the 3D object hidden in the images. Early predators needed to quickly assess where exactly is their prey in the foliage before jumping and attacking for example. That’s stereoscopic vision. We could not safely drive a car for example if we had no 3D vision, no perspective. We would not be very good at baseball, football, tennis, or whatever sport because we would have problems knowing where exactly the ball really is. There is a small percentage of humans who have difficulties in detecting the 3D images. But for most people, once you’ve seen one, “inside” if you will, your brain will remember, and it comes back quickly even years later. Your then trained brain will remember. Most stereograms are designed to be seen by an adult, with the right separation between the two channels. The best way to “see” inside is to almost stick your nose on the image, stare at the image for many seconds trying to detect a background at which point you can feel you’re somehow “inside” and then can slowly pull back to see the hidden 3D object very clearly depending on the quality of the stereogram. The earlier stereograms, during the 90’s, were fuzzy mainly because the 3D objects were not properly detached from their background. T&T Illuvision stereograms were the first ones in the mid-90s to be super sharp with up to one pixel resolution. It took us years to find, anywhere in the world, other stereograms of the same quality. All T&T Illuvision stereograms are original and exclusive. The illustrations, or mapping, consist of paintings hand drawn by artists which makes them unique and valuable. They were originally designed to be displayed or printed 8 inches wide and held at 14 inches from your eyes. But as they are in hi-res, they can be displayed or printed 1 meter wide or even projected much wider on a wall in which case they have to be looked at, proportionately, from a greater distance. Viewing stereograms is a trip way back in time to the 90’s when they were extremely popular. They are back as NFTs. Explore, enjoy, and invest.
