"Hands for us all" series is an exploration about dynamics of interaction where gestures are seen as postures in the realm of relationships, as imagined and envisioned on a global scale as well as on the scale of more intimate and embodied relationships. In the art making process, this reflection can be informed by - or integrate images of - found objects. Each piece is identified using numbers to facilitate the coexistence of several layers of meaning.
This work is derived from and extends early work exhibited eight years ago but never shown to a larger public. With respect towards sign languages, that I do not speak, and culturally informed communication gestures, the theme here is rather examined starting with a fascination for how hands can mirror a range of emotions, identities, sensibilities, and intentions.
