The morning light shines through the autumn leaves as I cruise down Route 112, better known as the Kancamagus Highway. A light mist lifts with the rising sun ~

Not more than 3 hours prior, I had woken up in the back of my car with an alarm blaring on my phone. I sat up from my sleeping bag and rubbed my eyes, trying to remember where in the world I even was. As I slowly gathered my thoughts, I started to slip my shoes on and organize my camera gear.

The previous evening I had driven 3 hours north into the state of New Hampshire with a goal of capturing some of the northeast’s iconic fall colors. And in my typical last-minute fashion, I had found a campsite to stay the night at within the vicinity of where I wanted to shoot the next morning.

It took no longer than 15 minutes before I was on the road, snacking on an energy bar and mentally preparing myself for the day ahead. I had my car windows down a crack, letting in the cool autumn air to wake me up.           For this morning in particular, I had my heart set on this hairpin turn surrounded by beautiful foliage. The turn can be found in Lincoln, NH- a beautiful mountain town home to less than 2,000 people. The town is prized for its nostalgic stores, alluring waterfalls, and of course the entrance to the Kancamagus Highway.

As I drove into the mountains it soon became apparent that I was in luck! I could feel my heartbeat start to rise as the colorful oaks and maples along the road revealed themselves. Once I had arrived at the overlook and hiked out to a safe place to fly from, I launched my drone and was immediately met with the most vibrant display of fall color I had ever seen.   Original Music and Sound Design by Clemens Ruh
