Beginning in upper Ribeauvillé, the circuit takes you to the castles of Haut-Ribeaupierre, Saint-Ulrich and Girsberg, that are situated in the Vosges mountains.

This bird’s eye image of the town of Ribeauvillé and its vineyards was taken from the well-preserved ruins of Saint-Ulrich Castle, situated 530 meters above the town. The yellow in the vineyards is relatively sparse as much of the leaves had been shed during a thunderstorm that occurred the night before.
