I took a month off my dayjob in October 2022 and embarked on photographic adventures chosen by my collectors. I've never been to Joshua Tree despite growing up in California, and this was an amazing opportunity to immerse myself in the high desert for a few days with my camera. October in Joshua Tree was perfect weather, gorgeous sunsets, and chilly mornings with hardly any other humans in the park. It's so quiet it almost hurts your ears with the stillness.

This particular sunset was glorious, but there was a threat of a looming dust storm over the horizon- visibility can drop to zero and fill the skies with choking, blowing dust. I had one eye on the horizon, watching for the impending storm, and another eye on the rapidly-changing ridiculously great sunset. Made it back safely before the dust!
