「the city of the Tonchiki Boy and the frogs・Kéró Kero」
The first Harvest Festival

In 398, 23 years after the arrival of the Kéróls to Kéró Kero Island, the Kéró Kero Temple, a place to pray to the gods of the Kéró Kero religion, was finally completed. It took 15 years from the start of construction to build this majestic giant temple. It was built at the foot of the sacred mountain of Kéró Kero, and in later times the temple itself came to be worshipped as a sacred place of the Kéró Kero religion.

The completion of the Kéró Kero Temple is arguably the greatest event in the early days of Kéró Kero. After their arrival on the island of Kéró Kero, the Kéróls began to build a new town, literally from scratch. Even with the backing of the powerful lords supporting the Kéróls, this was a daunting task. The completion of the Kéró Kero Temple was the culmination of such foundation-building efforts in the town of Kéró Kero. The citizens organized a grand festival to celebrate the completion of the temple, organizing ceremonies to express gratitude to the gods. This was the origin of Kéró Kero's biggest annual event, the Harvest Festival, which continues to this day. It is said that the citizens enjoyed drinking, dancing and laughing together for a month.

However, the Kéróls were absent during the festive as they had passed away after initiating the temple’s construction. Therefore, the Harvest Festival now serves as a tribute to the Kéróls. In the centre of the Kéró Kero Temple, a stone monument was erected, featuring the three principles that the Kéróls had envisioned for the town.

*Tonchiki Boy: a dumphead, a mischievous boy
*Kéró Kero: An onomatopoeic representation of the sound a frog makes in Japanese. It imitates the croaking sound of a frog. Used as a name for a city in the article.
*Kéróls: Representing citizens live in Kéró Kero in the article.
