This is one of the first (perhaps first) original pieces of digital art I ever made in my own style.
I created this piece in 1995 on an old Mac, using Photoshop (version 2 or 3) and a mouse. None of us owned our own computers back then, so I had to schedule time between classes in the Mac-Lab on campus at Montclair State to work on it. No tablet or pen was available at the time, so each pixel and selection was made click by click.
When the piece was finished, the only way to get it off the computer was by saving it to the floppy drive.
My graphic design teacher at the time had a book coming out and had asked me to include this piece in his book to illustrate what was possible using the new digital art technology that was gaining interest.
The piece (which I later painted in oils and titled, "Depression of Love") ended up also being my first piece of art ever published in a book.
It was inspired by my first heartbreak and my struggle to find love again.
This collection explores psychological nuances, psychedelic perceptions, and the paradoxical emotional journey of the human experience.
These are some of the visions that I bring to life so that they can expand into the Universe. This work has been served to me from somewhere outside of myself and is an intentional deviation from my other work.
This collection serves as a home to the unusual, and trippy parts of my mind.
